This was the day of the Enthronement for Crown Prince Willem Alexander and his wife Princess Maxima. Holland does not have a coronation, but rather an inauguration of their monarch. Holland now has a new monarch. He is King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima. King Willem is the son of Queen Beatrix who retired from the Dutch Throne. They too are a very striking couple and appear to be quite well received by the people of Holland.
