King Louis XVI born Louis-Auguste. He was the last king of France before the fall of the monarchy during the French Revolution. He was referred to as Citizen Louis Capet during the four months just before he was guillotined. He was born August 23, 1754 at the Palace of Versailles, Versailles, France. The king died on January 21, 1793 at the Place de la Concorde, Paris, France. His wife was Marie Antoinette whom married in 1770 and she died in 1793. His siblings were Louis XVIII of France, Charles X of France. His son Louis XVII of France and a daughter Marie Thérèse of France.
