SPA-43 King Felipe becomes knight

King Felipe and his wife visiting Queen Elizabeth II in England. HM the Queen installs King Felipe as a Knight of the Order of the Garter which is the Most Noble order in the world. This knighthood has only 100 members allowed at any given time. It is usually given by the British Monarch to whomever she wishes as a gift of honor. All those knighted by the English monarch can act, when called upon by the English king or queen, to give the monarch advice on special occasions and act as the monarchs’ closest and personal advisors. So for Queen Elizabeth II to do that, tells us a number of things, one, she trusts Felipe, two, she likes him as a friend and three, she respects his wisdom as an advisor. This act would be considered a rare action on the part of the Queen, as England and Spain were arch enemies back in the years of early explorations looking for new territories in the 1400's and 1500's.
