King Victor Emmanuel III was the King of Italy from 29 July 1900 until his abdication on 9 May 1946. In addition, he held the thrones of Ethiopia and Albania as Emperor of Ethiopia and King of the Albanians. The king was born on November 11, 1869 in Florence, Italy. He died on December 28, 1947 in Alexandria, Egypt. He stood 1.53 metres tall. His wife was Elena of Montenegro whom he married. She was born in 1896 and died in 1947. They had two children one son named Umberto II of Italy and Princess Mafalda of Savoy. His place of burial was in the Sanctuary of the Nativity of Mary, Vicoforte, Italy, St. Catherine's Cathedral, Alexandria, Egypt.
