(IT-6) King Victor II

King Victor Emmanuel II was King of Sardinia from 1849 until 17 March 1861, when he assumed the title of King of Italy and became the first king of a united Italy since the 6th century, a title he held until his death in 1878. He was born on March 14, 1820, Palazzo Carignano, Turin, Italy. He died on January 9, 1878 in Rome, Italy. His height was 1.58 m. The place of burial for the king was at Pantheon, Rome, Italy. He had a family with his first wife, Adelaide of Austria. Their marriage was 1842–1855. His second wife was Rosa Vercellana. They were married in 1869 until his death in 1878. The children were Umberto I of Italy, Amadeo I of Spain.
