This formal portrait of Czar Nicholas was considered to be the last official photograph of the Czar before his abdication in 1917. The Czar always believed in his Russian people, that they meant well and would not harm him and his family. Even though he was being moved about from one hiding spot to another, he trusted them in faith believing their sincerity and loyalty.
