(R-39) Abdication

(R-39) Abdication - Russian Royals
His Imperial Majesty Czar Nickolas II, in an attempt to quietly disassociate himself from being a public figure, secretly abdicated the Throne. This action was taken due to the pressures from the revolutionaries, his advisors, and the military, but unbeknown to his wife and family. When he arrived home and the empress and children learned of his action, she was furious. He had hoped that by taking this step, that she would be pleased. Again he had misjudged her and he was now faced with her wrath. Poor Nickolas was in the “doghouse again” with his wife. He could never do anything right in her eyes. She always criticized him for something he was not doing right. The Empress was always nagging at him for something. The only reason he took the action secretly was to protect her and quietly leave his role as monarch and hopefully take his wife and the children to escape to mainland Europe. But now, the problem got worse. Shortly after his resignation, the situation became overwhelming. The Czar and family were taken prisoner and held captive and shuffled about from place to place to keep the White Russians (czar’s supporters) from tracking him down and rescuing the czar and family. It was now in less than six months or so, the Imperial Russian family were killed.
